Mid week Goodies!

First of all, a birthday"gift" and best wishes to Erin at the Bright Owl!  She does such an awesome job providing us with a zendala template each week, despite her busy schedule with nursing school.  Thank you, Erin and here is my birthday tangle for you - "maelstrom" by Linda Dawson.  Oh, I love using this tangle.  It has so many pretty ways to put those boxes together!  I also did a twinchie with just maelstrom and its variations for a swap.

Every Inchie Monday's word was cathedral.  This is the third attempt.  I had great ideas but non of them seemed to work out.  This one turned out okay, but it isn't what I envisioned.

Diva's challenge was to use the tangle "Jailed Johnny" on a tile.  Aside from adding this one to my notebook, I haven't really used it.  It hasn't been one of my favorites, however, I do like the way it turned out here, sort of a fabric look to the piece.

Have a great week and thank you for dropping by!

  1. I know EXACTLY what you mean about having a vision and it doesn't come out quite the way you planned, but your inchie drawing is great! Nice shading! All of your drawings are so nice!

  7. I like your zendala, I have not used maelstorm. There are so many different tangles it is hard to keep up with them or even think of them all. At one point I had "delusions" of using my journal to practice each tangle. After almost 18 mos. that is still not a reality. It does limit what I do a little. That is why I like the Challenges and dares as it will get me to at least try some new things.

This Jailed Johnny is also not a favorite of mine, but nice to have tried is, don't you think?

  13. I think your cathedral looks beautiful. Do you know that I am unhappy with my inchies so often? Some weeks later they look much better than the day I do them.
