Ahhh . . . Bedroom Shoes!

Growing up, I rarely had on a pair of shoes.  They were the first thing I pulled off when I got home from school.  I loved to walk in mud puddles, cool green grass, and sand piles.  As I grew up that changed of course.  I still love those feelings, but I have to endure shoes sometimes.  However to spend all day in my comfy shoes is so nice - and a Monday to boot!  Oh my!
Speaking of shoes (well, I was at least) they are my least favorite article of clothing.  I don't understand people who have closets of shoes.  If you are one of those, please bear with me for a moment.  I view shopping for shoes (which I am going to have to do to have a good pair of walking shoes) as pretty close to enduring the dentist.   Don't understand?  Consider my "feet".  I wear a size 4D shoe.  Nearly as wide as it is long.  Finding pretty and comfortable shoes in that size is impossible.  For example, my graduation shoes for high school had to be white.  Mom and I drove all over Greensboro, NC trying to find a pair of shoes I could wear.  Our final choice - a pair of Winnie the Pooh little girl shoes from Sears.  I told my parents under NO circumstances were they to tell anyone.  High school, baby shoes, oh dear!
But I digress.  On to the challenges for this week (and it isn't even Saturday).  The inchie word was kangaroo.  I am not too happy with this kangaroo, but it was the best I could do.

Joey's letter was V.  We had to use the tangle vano.  After that only one tangle would do - verve.  I love that tangle.  It is so relaxing to me.  Just flows along and is so easy to chill to.

I had another watercolor background to play on.  So I just played around on it along with some pencils and a gel pen.  I need to make some more painted backgrounds.

The last piece is a zendala.  I like trying my hand at gems.  I have one tiny goof, but I won't tell you where.

Guess I will head off to another pursuit.  I need to work on my coloring book.  I really want it finished, I just can't seem to find motivation for that.  Have a wonderful week and take care!!

This is it!

This past week I walked out of a building that I had been in for a very long time.  Even if I sub or go back to just visit, it won't be the same.  There are so many new people coming on board next year, I won't know anyone.  We have had about 9 people leave for one reason or another.  That is a big turnaround.  It will feel changed and very strange.
I got through most of this week without being too emotional.  Monday the staff had a luncheon for me - my "Endless Summer" party.  It was so nice and I got lots of gift cards (art supplies here I come!).
This cake was almost too pretty to cut!  But it was sooo good!
One of my several lovely gifts

Then on Tuesday the county where I work had a brunch for all the people retiring.  That was nice, but less emotional because I knew less people personally.
The superintendent, me and my principal

Now on to some art work!  I had to get my inchie done.  The word was panda.  Isn't she a cutie?  I love pandas.  They are so cuddly looking.

Made by Joey's letter is U.  I used the tangles unme and up and away.  We are almost through the alphabet.  I wonder what will be next???

The last piece is for no reason, I just needed to tangle awhile.  I used my water colors to do a random background and then drew my tangles.  I used colored pencils to shade the tangles.

I guess I need to decide what I want to do with the rest of my afternoon.  I can't decide between painting, tangling or designing some things to cut on the cricut.  Ah, such tough decisions!  I hope everyone is having a wonderful weekend!  Thank you so much for dropping by and I hope to get around to more of the blogs myself . . .  now.

Well . . . What next?

Yesterday was my final day in the classroom (we won't count if I decide to sub).  It has been a tumultuous week.  The awards day Wednesday with my kids was probably the hardest.  Yes, I cried through the end.  Friday, our last day, was too hectic to cry until the very last few minutes and then the kids and I cried together.  Some of them hugged and didn't want to let go.  I didn't either.
My first "project" is to finish this adult coloring book I have started and get it to the publisher.  I would like to see that happen.  I may not sell one of them, but that is okay.  It will be the fulfillment of a dream.  Then I really want an online or Facebook store to sell my art work.  I don't know where to begin there (suggestions welcome).  But that is at least a plan.
The inchie word is koala.  I have never seen one in real life, but would love to.  They look so adorable.  Australia is one of the places I would love to see.  I doubt I would ever get to, but who knows?
Joey's letter was T this week.  I should have made it stand for tired!  One of the things we have to do the last day is to move all - yes ALL - furniture into the hall.  I am somewhat sore this morning.  It is however done!  For the final time!  I used the tangles tipple, tamisol and t &e.
I have to work 2 or 3 inservice days this coming week.  Mostly paperwork.  Oh fun!  Monday they are going to have a retirement luncheon for me - that is going to be even harder than saying good bye to my kiddos.  These people are like my family.  Then on Tuesday I go to a county wide retirement breakfast - that doesn't bother me.  I am not as close to those guys.
Our weather is beautiful but oh so hot!  If this is our May weather what will July be like??? Yikes!  Thank you for dropping by and saying hello!

Five more days!

Five more days - at least with children.  Then 3 or 4 inservice days.  I can't wait.  I dread it.  How can I be filled with 2 very different emotions at the same time.  Very conflicting feelings.  Thank goodness for art time and the relaxation and get away it brings.
Our inchie word was "flamingo".  I am reminded of those pink plastic ones that can sometimes grace yards.  Can't say I like those.  Once when we were in Florida and went to Cypress Gardens we saw a field full of the real kind - absolutely gorgeous!
Joey's letter was S this week.   I used sandswirl, side-eye, and sxc-rolls.  I was new to a few of them, but hey, I needed s tangles!
One of the coloring groups I belong to on facebook posted a challenge to use one color only to do a picture.  You could use pencils, paint, markers - whatever, just one color.  I went to my Color It dog coloring book and chose a patterned French Bull dog.  Then I used my pencils, markers and gel pens to color with.  This was actually a lot of fun!  I may have to try something else this way.
Okay - that's it for this week.  Take care and have a wonderful weekend.  The weather here is lovely and for once no rain - yahoo!!

To bee or not to bee

Okay, the title is corny.  But I could not come up with a catchy title and that was the first thing that popped in my head.  This time of the year with all that is going on I am surprised that anything popped in my overloaded brain!!
As you may have surmised Every Inchie's word is "bee".  While I don't care for the little beasts I do recognize their usefulness.  I have had some nasty experiences with things that sting - wasps, hornets and the like.  Once my brother and I were mowing our grandparents' yard.  He was in the front and I was doing the back.  We were separated by a hedge so we couldn't see each other.  I finished and still heard his mower running, so I stepped around to see how much longer he had.  There sat the mower - still running - and he was no where to be seen.  So being the potentially bossy big sister, I went over and grabbed the mower to "take over and do his job correctly".  I took hold and started to move when I was surrounded by a swarm of bees or wasps or something stingy!  He had mowed over an underground nest greatly disturbing the occupants and then took off running.  I had no idea and quickly gave the bees another target!  Not a pleasant experience!  My stings had stings!!!
Oh well, here is my bee and he is so sweet he would not sting a soul!
Made by Joey's letter was R.  We are almost through the alphabet!  I used the tangles rysa, r2, and ringeli.
Well, it is off to . . .  hmm, I am not sure.  I think I shall do some watercolor painting today.  Or draw.  Or color.  Either way it shall be creative.  Hope you have a wonderful weekend!  See you soon!
