Remember me?

I can't believe I am taking so long to post here lately.   I haven't done a lot of art work this week.  There is so much going on at school and I still am not feeling super.  Bronchitis, I am told, just takes its own sweet time to leave.  There are days I feel great (not energetic, but great) and then there are days the coughing just won't quit.  I need a long break.
I did find time to work on the inchie for this week.  The word was village and it gave me a fit.  Everything I drew, I didn't like.  So I found a picture of a Mexican village and added some colored pencils to it.  Not great - but done.  Maybe next week I an be a bit more creative.
I also got to work on the alphabet challenge that Diane Clancy posts.  The tangles had to begin with the letters, IGJ.  I used intersection, jajazz, golven and illusion.  I also used one of the strings provided by Alice Hendon's facebook string challenge.
I am enjoying playing with my new Cricut Air.  It is absolutely a dream machine to use.  I am making cards and scrapbook pages galore.  I plan on working on Valentines for my class next week - I will post pictures.
Another fun thing I am doing is playing around with Google classroom.  Our school is getting a massive amount of chromebooks for our kiddos and I want to be (semi) knowledgable.  It is rather addicting and fun.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a very blessed day!

Good morning!

I hope you heard me shout that title.  I slept last night without coughing! I went to the doctor yesterday and got antibiotics and a shot so I feel so much better.  Still not 100%, but better.  I am hoping I am on the road to recovery.
Worked on a few challenges this week.  Not many.  I didn't have the energy, but at least I got a few done and that was nice.  I did the Every Inchie challenge at the beginning of the week, but hadn't gotten around to posting it.  The word of the week was sofa.  Now it is time to think of next week's word - village.  Oh dear.
Then I worked on the challenge for Made by Joey.  Her challenges this month has a music theme.  I don't listen to music while I tangle.  I like to.  But I tangle at our den table and my brother is in there usually doing something at the computer.  It is not distracting, because we usually chat while I tangle.
Adele Bruno had a great string and challenge this week.  I love the string and we had to use hypnotic and paradox - two of my very favorites.
Thanks for dropping by.  We have a little snow here - not enough to be really pretty or to play in (not that I would risk the cold right now).  At least we got some.  I am still hoping for some more.

Sleepy Saturday

First of all "thank you" to everyone who left such a sweet comment last time on my  blog.  I do feel a tiny bit better.  I really should have been able to just take off til I was 100% instead of dragging out on cold mornings.  But as I said being out is just too difficult.  As Jean in a comment  said last week, the kids need their "mama".  And she is right.  I do however have a 3 day weekend!  I am hoping to return even  better.
I worked on a Facebook challenge to draw pokeleaf.  I like that tangle.  It does have a habit of acting a bit like our kudzu in this area - just growing and growing and taking over everything!

Then I worked on Diane Clancey's challenge.  I used the tangles - yuma, mickey, and 100.

They are saying some wintery mix is in our future.  I would love a few extra days off.  The kind where everyone is taking them and I don't feel behind.  Now that sounds nice.
Thank you for dropping by and saying hello.  I hope your day is going awesome.  I think I shall pull out my coloring book and work on a page.  Maybe I should build a blanket fort in the living room and get some milk and cookies . . . it sounds like fun.  Want to come play?

Art and whine

No that is not a misspelled word.  I am in a whiny mood.  I have coughed and wheezed til I cannot stand it.  I am sort of feeling better, but only after doing nothing but sit. And sit.  And sit.  I sat and planned yesterday for school.  I went to bed thinking I could drag through the day.  Surely.  My body had other plans.  I tossed all night long and coughed.  So much to my aggravation I called in sick. I really hate doing that.  Now don't get me wrong.  I love a day off school better than most, but not when all I can do is vegetate.  No fun in that.  But I called in either way.  So I went back to sleep and slept late (finally), stayed in my pajamas, and moved to comfy chair to draw.  I haven't really moved all day except to push the pencil around.  I would love to have played with the Cricut, but that requires motion.
Alright whining is over.  Now to what I did accomplish.  I made my round of the challenges and got to finish several.  It was nice to be able to sit and create some things.  I also got to watch several you tube craft videos.  Lots of ideas to try when I am feeling more spritely.

Tangle Me 3 #24 - Spokes
I hope to make it back to school tomorrow.  Truth is, I could take another two or three days and just sit, but my class needs me.  I don't like missing things we need to do.  So we will see what tomorrow brings.  If I can make it through this week, I have a 3 day week end coming.  I can't wait.  Thanks for dropping by and putting up with my whine!  Have a blessed day!

Day - Wait! Who cares?

After a year of keeping up with what day it was, I feel sort of lost!  Seriously.  Besides, what do I title my posts?!
I worked on Diane Clancy's challenge to use tangles that begin with the letters JSW.  I chose to use slice, white perl, and jax.
Square One had a challenge this past week to use the tangle henna drum.  It has to be in the traditional black and white so I have had to really fight my urge to color those flowers.

Both of these are done on the journal pages I have made to put the string a day challenge on.  Nice to already have a string to choose from.
At the bottom of the page I have a space to write on.  Then I will slip them into sheet protectors and a binder!
Thanks for dropping by and I guess I need to return to my school work.  Any one want to grade some papers??

Susy Mosh challenges

How nice it is to post when I want to and not feel any pressure.  Things here are going okay.  I don't seem to have as much free time as I wish.  Christmas break made me very lazy.  Not a hard thing to happen.  For me at least.
Susy Mosh does two really fun challenges.  The first on is "That's New to Me".  For this challenge we needed a new tangle that began with an A and also the tangle 'pinbawl" by David Hunter.  I used autumnal and arcflower.  Both are mostly new.
The other challenge is "Tangle Me 3".   We are given one tangle and have to explore using it 3 different ways.  This time we continued playing with "pinbawl".
Both of these are on my string page I am doing for Alice Hendon's string challenge.  Now on to something else.  Take care and thank you for dropping by.

Every Inchie Monday - galaxy

It feels sort of weird not to be posting this in so many places since the Create Each Day challenge has ended.  I like it, but it is a strange feeling.
Every Inchie Monday's word is galaxy.  A huge concept for a little square!
Now it is off to work for the first time in 2 weeks.  Oh I could've killed the clock this morning!  I am so not ready to return.  I have enjoyed my time off with nothing to do but create!  What joy!
Thank you for dropping by and saying hello!  Have a great day.
