Rain? Light showers? Not.

It's raining again.  The weatherman optimistically says "light showers" possible.  We never have light showers.  We have floods and torrential rains, but light?  No.  Our backyard is a major swamp.  Lakota who cannot stand to get wet, just stands in the back door and looks out with this dismal expression on his face - like, why me?  I am hoping the weather is right for the weekend when they say "a beautiful weekend".  We'll see.   Trust no one.
The inchie country was Kenya.  There are a lot of wonderful images - animals, scenery, etc. - I could have used but I really love the graphic flag.  It appeals to me so that is what I did.   Just the flag.
Joey's challenge had me going for quite a while.  First of all the center of the circle, which she gives us was the tangle frames.  That wasn't easy for me, but I managed.  but trying to decide how to finish it off was a struggle.  I just kept staring at it wondering what to do.  I am moderately okay with it - I do like the color.
This next piece I did for my 100 day challenge.  It covers 3 days.  I divided the journal page into 3 sections then drew hollibaugh over the page.  The days are divided by the teal line. This was fun to fill.
I got another awesome coloring book from Creative Haven.  I love those books.  If you haven't tried one of their books you need to.  This new one is Butterfly Mandalas.  Very relaxing to color.  The pictures in it are very detailed and so pretty!  Here are a couple I have finished.

Guess I will call it a day now.  I have several other things I need to get busy and finish.  Take care and thanks for dropping by!  Hugs!!

Happy Tuesday!

The challenges this week were so much fun!  The inchie was Egypt.  There are some weeks I have trouble finding something from the country I want to/can do.  This week was the opposite.  There were so many cool things I could not decide.  So I put as many things as I could on one little inch.

Diva's challenge was a duotangle this week.  That means we can only use two tangles.  She chose shattuck and tripoli.  It is sort of hard to tell but I used a gray marker to do the tripoli.

Joey's Creative Inspiration is a series of finish her tangles.  She put the tangle Relly-Telly-One in the center and we had to add other tangles around it.  I decided to use some Derwent pencils to make my background.  Then when that had dried, I drew Joey's start and added to that some "breach" growing out of the center.   Pop in some more color and voila!  Done!
Only a tiny bit to go on my Grand Canyon "race".  I hope to finish it up tomorrow.  Then I will be off to do the Everglades race!  I am trying to complete a National Parks series.  The last two races - Yellowstone and Yosemite are really long ones.  Over a 100 miles each.  They should take me a long time!
Thank you for dropping by and I hope you are having a wonderful day!  Hugs!

Happy Sunshiny Day!!

It is so lovely outside!  It feels like spring - okay a bit cool, but oh so lovely outside.  I love spring for the most part.  Our pollen count has been tremendously high.  Bad for me, good for the Claritin company (they do sinus meds).
The inchie this week was Peru.  I googled Peru and came up with a cute girl in a her native hat.  I started to do a llama, but decided she would be easier.
Joey's challenge was to take her string with Breach in the center and add to it.  I had a lot of fun with this one.  Added some more breach and some feathering (because I am addicted to that tangle). Then I decided on some color instead of graphite shading.  That turned out really good until I turned the page and saw the color with gamsol blending had gone through to the other page.

Okay.  Now what?  Diva wanted us to use our fingers to draw a string.  I added color to make the fade through from the other side less noticeable.   Oh well.  The color worked, even if it wasn't in the master plan!
One of my Facebook groups has a 100 day project challenge.  We have to tangle for 15 minutes each day.  That is no problem.  It might be more of a challenge for me to NOT tangle for 15 minutes, lol.  I have found that stopping after 15 minutes was next to impossible.  On the few that ran close, I simply finished them in overtime.  I could not leave them unfinished.  Too linear for that!

I finished my Avenue of the Giants virtual race!  I am now waiting on the shirt and medal, which I will share next week.  Now I am off and cycling through the Grand Canyon.  Oh how I would love to see these in person!  We saw the Grand Canyon on our last trip out west.  It was an awesome site and one I will never forget.  I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to travel with my family before mom died.  The memories are wonderful even this long ago.

A Very Challenging Group of Challenges!!

I think everyone who gives us challenges got together and decided to make it as hard as they could.  I am not sure I am joking.  Or maybe it was me this past week.  Maybe my brain was not in a very good challenge mode.  Who knows?
Every Inchie Monday's word or rather country was Germany.  Now why should that be a problem?  I haven't a clue.  I tried drawing the Brandenberg Gate.  On an inch??  Couldn't make it look right.  So I decided on a cute German cap over the flag.  Nothing fancy here.

Mak-rah-mee??  Joey, really!?  I struggle with making that look "flowy" like it supposed to!  I did get it drawn in one pass which was surprising.  Then I decided to add some perfs and auras and finish it off with ripped screen.  It doesn't look bad, but it was challenging.

Oh, Diva!  What were you thinking?  My brain was nearly fried as it was.  We had to do a UMT called pickpocket.  First I couldn't find the step outs.  I don't do instagram (not yet anyway).  So I called out to some FB friends and they supplied the needed steps.  I practiced.  I started.  And started.  And started.  About 5 times.  I ended up with something I sort of like and have to glue it over one mess up in my journal.  Not my finest moment.

The Color It coloring challenge for the week was to choose only 3 markers and color the picture they chose.  This proved to be fairly easy once I chose the colors.  I hope mine is chosen as I could win a $20 gift card if it is.  Keep your fingers crossed.

I think I will grab my markers or my zentangle stuff and just chill for a while.  My poor old brain needs it!  Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a wonderful week! Hugs!
