Ahhh . . . . Relax and Create!

Four days of post inservice this year.   That was amazing - last year we only had 2 to get furniture moved, paperwork done, etc.  So less hectic this year.  Even so, I am glad it is over.  Now I can get down to some serious crafting.  I had been working on all these pieces this week, but posting takes time I did not have so bear with me for a long post.  Sorry!
I missed last week's inchie for Every Inchie Monday.  I can't believe that.  The word was 3D.  I guess my entry is a bit lame - 3 d's.  Oh well.  This week's word was button.  That was fairly simple.  I have a container of buttons used for scrapping and card making so I just selected a few to decorate my inchie.

We are nearing the finish on the Roman numeral challenge at Made by Joey's.  This week was number XIV.  Next week I will show the whole page of completed numbers.

Diane Clancy's challenge was to use the letters GLJ.  I chose to use ginili, leef-e-vin, and jax.  It was kind of nice to play around with something a little less "grid" based.   I tend to get hung up on grid patterns.  Must be my orderly, perfectionist nature!  It can drive some folks crazy.

Diva asked us to use the new tangle "ellish".   Okay, I can see loving to play with this one.  For this tile I used betweed (a close related tangle) for a filler.  I could use some more practice but it was a lot of fun to play with.

Last, this was piece I have had in the works for over a week now.  I would just add a little when I had a few moments.  So it took a while to finish it up.

I hope you all are having a wonderful weekend.  Thank you for dropping by!

Nearing summer . . .

Yesterday, Friday, was my last day with my kids.  We shoved and moved boxes and furniture, played some games and just visited.  I have loved this group of kids.  They have got to be the sweetest bunch I have had in quite a few years.  The real blessing is I get them again next year.  Our school loops.  Which means I pick up a group in second grade and keep them for two years.  Then go back and do it again.  So while it is hard to say good bye, it really is only for a few short weeks.  If I can ( and I pray I can)  next year will be my last.  I really want to retire.  I will probably sub.  It will help with the money, but just as importantly it will mean spending time with children, which I know I will miss.
And now on to more tangley things.  I worked on Made by Joey's Roman numeral challenge - number XIII.  Only two more weeks to go and I will post the whole page.
For Diane Clancey's challenge the tangles had to begin with the letters F, O, and a number.  I chose to use fenestro, ozzie, and 4 corners.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a great week!

Droop, not drupe

Diva's challenge was to use the tangles drupe and pokeroot in a duotangle.  Drupe seems very appropriate for me today!   Yesterday was our school field day.  The weather was perfect and the kids were awesome.  I couldn't ask for a better day.  However, my feet and legs (and every other area) have checked out.  I was so exhausted yesterday, I could barely chew my supper and then off to bed for me.  I slept like a baby.  Today, I am much better rested, but still feel the effects of the long day.  So maybe my tangle should be named droop instead!

Diane Clancy's challenge was to use tangles that began with the letters VEY.  I chose vitrailToo, yewdee, and emingle.  Then I just felt like coloring a bit.

The Roman numeral challenge (Made by Joey) was number XII this week.  It had to be a monotangle using knightsbridge.  I rarely use that tangle.  It is very simple and can add a lot of drama, but for some reason it doesn't really appeal to me.

Well, that's the work for this past week.  I hope to get a lot more done when school is finally out.  I have several projects on my to-do list.  Have a great week-end!

"Are you pondering what I am pondering?"

If you love Pinky and the Brain cartoons like I do, that quote is more than familiar.  They are absolutely hilarious.  They are part of the Animaniacs group (which are equally funny).   So when I discovered the Every Inchie Monday word for this week was "brain", I had no choice - it had to be Brain.
Now, I have report cards to do - ahhhh, for the last time this year.  I will be so glad to see summer.  I would love to call this my last year.  If there was any way I would retire.  I love my class.  They are totally awesome, but the headaches of working with some people have taken the luster out of the day.  There is rumor they are changing schools.  I hope it is truth.
What shall I do now?  Oh yes, the same thing we do every night!  "Try to take over the world!!"
      See you!

Sunday post

I can't wait until there is time to just draw and craft as much as I want.  I have so many ideas bouncing around in my head and so little time to produce them.  That is one of the things I enjoy most about tangling.  When I craft with my cricut, I have to rearrange a few things in our den to get everything I need out.  So I never craft without some time, usually a day, to do so.  With tangling, I grab my paper and pen and voila!  I have all I need for some fun.
My meds that I mentioned last week did a number on my stomach.  I think I am adjusting although I seem to be less sick.  I think when we said we were going to lower my blood sugar I did not realize they were going to make me hate the thought of food.
First stop, Diane Clancy challenge #52 - MQG.  I chose to use mooka, globz, and queasy.  I will let you figure out the reason I chose to use queasy.  It seemed appropriate!

I worked for a bit on Adele Bruno's challenge.  I used swarm, sand swirl, nzeppel, and tipple.  I had fun with each of these tangles - nzeppel being one of my absolute favorites.

Every Inchie Monday's word this past week was monkey.  This year we have watched a lot of Curious George.  I had never really watched that much, if any of the popular cartoon.  I find I really like it.  So whenever I have early morning breakfast duty at school we watch this while they eat.
Then onto Made by Joey's Roman numeral challenge - XI.

I have some birthday cards to make.  I haven't played with the cricut in a few weeks so I better get going.  Take care and thanks for dropping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Time to Breathe!

This has been a very hectic week - okay here lately I say that nearly every post.  Well, they have been.  And for the next few weeks until school is out they will continue to be.  Right now all I can see is endless paper work and cleaning and moving.  All the while teaching and entertaining some kiddos who are counting the days til summer.
I managed quite a few pieces through out this week.  I worked on Made by Joey's Roman numeral challenge for number X.  I have to admit though I don't like this one. That is the problem in doing a piece on a page that is linked to other pieces.  Once begun, there is no way to "fix it" and no way to start over.  So I have to live with it and hope I can ignore it.  I didn't use all the 5 tangles she suggested.  I only managed three of them.

Then onto my Diane Clancy challenge, which I feel the exact opposite about - I love it.  It reminds me of a kitchen wall for some silly reason.  The letters we had to use were PWZ.  I chose the following tangles - pax, wallbucket, and zero-in.  Then I added a couple of colors.

Diva's challenge #265 was to use some stripes.  I love using stripes - it allows a chance to use lots of border tangles (which I didn't this time) and they always look so neat together.

The inchie word for the week was "big".  A bit of a oxymoron don't you think?  I just wrote the word on the inchie and then decorated it.

Thank you for dropping by.  Also this week I had a doctor visit which gave me a change of meds.  One of the new ones has the potential to make me sick on my stomach.  I really can't spare the time to be sick with all I need to do.  (smile)  When can we ever say we have time to be sick?!  Please keep in our thoughts that I do not have any reactions to this and that it helps lower my sugar.  All other things were great, so that is good news at least.
See you soon!  Have a wonderful day!
