Cooler weather

While I know it is not going to last, I have so been enjoying this much cooler weather.  I look forward to fall.  Not winter so much.  I don't like extremes.  I prefer milder temps.  So fall and spring are great.  I worked on a few challenges this week and colored a little.  I haven't felt super so I didn't finish any of the house projects I really want to get done.  Let's face it when you put housework up against doing creative things, well the choice is simple.  At least for me.
Here are this week's challenges -
Iceland, Every Inchie Monday

Line Weaving challenge - Circe

Line weaving challenge

Line Weaving Challenge (don't these look like a flock of flamingos?)

This is the only coloring page I finished this week.  The little solid color Lhasa apso looks like one I used to have, Ko-Ko.  She was such a cutie.  I am still loving the chameleon markers.  They are tons of fun.  I haven't tried skin or fur with them.  I usually use my colored pencils.  More control for me there.

Thank you for dropping by and hopefully leaving me a comment!  I love hearing from you!  Have a great and blessed day!!

Crash!!

To say that I have been blessed this past week is somewhat of an understatement.  I felt a huge blessing the other day.  We have a couple of steps going out to the back porch - a covered concrete slab.  We had let Lakota out and I turned to come back in.  I caught my bedroom slipper on the edge of the door and slam!  I crashed into the dining room floor.  Full force on my face.  I didn't have time to put out a hand to break my fall so my face did the job!  Major pain!  My glasses fell clear without breaking (blessing).   My mouth hurt but I did not break a tooth (another blessing).  And even though it bled a lot, my nose wasn't broken (yeah again).  It was a bit frightening how much I bled, due to the blood thinners I am on, but still no breaks.  I wasn't even sore the next day.  It could've been much worse if I had fallen OUT the door.  The concrete might have done some severe damage.  So all in all, I felt quite fortunate.  I did not however feel the least bit GRACEFUL.
The weather has been rainy this week so I didn't feel the least bit bad about sitting and coloring and drawing.  Perfect weather for it.  I also have been wrestling with a small stomach bug so being lazy this week came easy.  I still want to get started cleaning closets but hey, that can be done whenever, right?
I am working in my Color It book, Dogs Man's Best Friends.  Here are a couple of ones I have completed.  I am still really enjoying the chameleon markers.  They give such a great blended look.  I love the ease with which they combine colors or do gradients.  I don't feel comfortable enough to try the dogs fur with the markers so I use the polychromos pencils for that.

Here are a few of the challenges I did for this week.
Every Inchie Monday - Jordan's flag
An It's a Sting Thing challenge I forgot to post in time
Weekly Challenge (Lineweaving Community) - Feathers

Mojo Challenge using slidehats and meringue
Thank you for dropping by and a huge welcome to the new followers I have!  When I first started my blog a long time ago, I went the next day to school and tried to find someone to follow me so I could have at least one follower.  My friend, the assistant principal, agreed.  I was so thrilled to have ONE follower.  To see it grow without me begging is so cool!  Again thanks.  Also thanks for your comments - they highlight my day!  Hugs and blessings!

Challenges!

The rain has finally stopped.  I am glad.  Lakota is more so.  He is a lab mix, but the part that is supposed to like the water is apparently not lab.  He just stands on the porch and watches it rain but won't go out without major encouragement.
I got my new chameleon markers.  They are very serious fun.  I love the playing around and combining them with each other.  They make blending so much fun!  Something I usually don't say about a marker.

I had a chance to do several challenges this week - yahoo!  I love the way they make me stretch my thinking.  Sometimes they can be rather difficult.  Sometimes not.

Weekly Challenge for Rainbow Elephant - swag farling, dinoflor

Mojo Challenge - taxi, zeart, pokerooty

Every Inchie Monday challenge - Portugal
Thank you for dropping by and hopefully leaving me a comment.  Have a wonderful week.  Hugs!

I Finished!!

I did it!  I finished the next Yes Fit race.  I honestly thought I was nuts for signing up for a long race - 121 miles.  And yes it took a long time to do it at a few miles each day on the stationary bike, but the main thing is I did it!  The race was through Scotland pointing out different facts and art work with unicorns.  Very interesting.  I will get my unicorn shirt and medal this week.  Now I am going to do a short race in Charleston.  I chose Charleston, SC because I have actually been there and I thought that would be fun.  I also included the link above to yes.fit.  I thought some of you might like to check it out.  If you do decide to, please let me know and I will share a code with you that will give you (and me) a few dollars off the race!
The inchie word was China.  I usually google the country's icons and chose from there.  The first thing that caught my eye was - of course - the adorable panda.  I would love to see one in person.  They are just so precious.

Several challenges this week provided me some fun.  And a good place to be since it is rainy and messy.  Thank goodness the guy got my porch fixed a while back so we can at least step outside with Lakota without getting soaked.
Rainbow Elephant weekend challenge

Tangles All Around challenge

IAST challenge #254

And for no challenge at all just because I like to color -

Thank you for stopping by and saying hello!  Please leave me a comment - I love hearing from you even if it just to say "hi"!  Have a great week!  Hugs!

Congratulations to all the winners!! If your name is listed as a winner, you must contact Karen at khasheck@gmail.com BEFORE August 18th at midnight CST with your NAME, EMAIL ADDRESS AND MAILING ADDRESS. If you do not contact Karen before August 18th at midnight CST, your prize will be forfeited.

(If your name is picked and you do not have an USA mailing address, I am sorry but we will have to pick a different winner as our sponsors can only mail in the USA. Please let us know if that is the case.)
The winner of the prize from my blog was  . . . drumroll please . . . Garlene Peterson!  Congratulations!  I would love for you to post something you make with you prize in the comment section of my blog - not necessary, just curious!  Thanks for playing along!
I finished a few other pieces this week.  I did a shading and rainbow challenge for one of my facebook groups.  I love playing around with color.
Then I worked on the Mojo challenge for Rainbow Elephant.  This one gave me some pause.  I don't mind the ninja stars or drupe, but floatfest and I are not friends.  Guess that is why it is called a challenge, right?  It definitely was.
The last piece was just a coloring page.  I probably drooled the whole time I was coloring as I have a love for ice cream.  And I will not tell you how many times I considered licking the page.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  Mine is wet.  Oh well, good excuse to stay inside and tangle or color, right?  See you later!  Hugs!
