Sunshine and sleeping late!

I am soooo enjoying my spring break!  This schedule suits me just fine.  I do sleep late - about 10 in the morning.  But wait, before you judge me - I also don't go to bed before 3 in the morning.  I am a night owl.  I get my most creative work done in the wee hours.  So really my late sleep is not so late considering.
I worked on my inchie first - parrot.  I really saw it as more realistic that it turned out.  Oh well!  It is pretty nice either way.

Then on to Joey's challenge #159.  I used natti, nesting, and  nzeppel.  I also only colored the letter this time for no real reason.  Maybe because the next things I worked on meant a lot of coloring.

I love the way the gems look that so many people are including in their art work.  So naturally I have to try them too.  I borrowed an idea I saw on line (of course) and made a garden of gems.  I think I am getting a little better, but I am no where near the work of what I have seen.  I will get there, I hope!

Last I just colored.  I love this new interest the world has in coloring books for adults.  I loved coloring as a child and it hasn't changed.  I got this book, Mythical and Fantasy, by ColorIt.  I love their books.  If you haven't tried one of them, you really should.  They are very high quality.

I hope you all have a wonderful day!  I plan on working on my coloring book for a little while this afternoon.  I hope to have it ready to publish by summer.  Hopefully.  See you later!

  2. Great tile! I love the way you only colored the N, makes it really stand out.

Adult coloring books are wonderful. I have three, and I love them.

  3. I'm a night owl too but it's always been a bane as my husband is a lark!!! I used to do all my crafting and making, decorating etc at night often not starting till nearly midnight when I'd get a second wind! I know exactly what you mean about being creative in the early hours and even now sometimes I wake to write an idea down or draw something!! Love your tangles and especially the gems, like you I enjoy colouring but must admit you have a flair giving it a real artistic look and your little parrot is very cute

  4. At times I have a hard time getting started with my drawings, but once the wheels are turning there is no stopping and this often leads way past midnight, too. The only one suffering is me, the next morning. So who cares? Your gems are 100% better looking than mine. I know that exactly because I don't even dare to draw them. I find them extremely challenging. Your coloring on the N is, as the saying goes, Less is sometimes More, perfect. I love your spring card best though. Keep gemming.
And know I finally know why people put garden goblins in their gardens...

  5. I remember the first time I saw gems and thought well that's impossible! It really isn't though it's like anything else it takes practice, yours are looking good! I hit LOTS of different websites and still do when I see one I love.

I really like all the detail you have captured in your inchie...and it's nice to see that you are enjoying your break and getting plenty of colouring done...I do far more creative things at night when I am undisturbed...your book sounds very exciting...I will be watching out for more as time passes...Dixx

  10. I am usually asleep by 10:30 so I am in total awe that you can see straight to draw in the wee hours of the morning! All of your art and colourings are beautiful!
