Day 302 - candy corn

I will draw it, but I will not eat it.  I have never been able to eat those really pretty little pieces of candy.  But I had a lot of fun drawing for Adele Bruno's string challenge.
Gotta run and do some lessons and paper grading!  See you later!

Day 301 - Shattuck

Here is my tile for Suzy Mosh's Tangle Me 3 challenge.  Between sneezing and coughing I finally finished it - smile.  I can't believe I am on round two of the sinusy cold thingie this year (school year).  I rarely get sick at all.  And never this early into the school year.  Oh well, here you go - shattuck!

Thanks for dropping by and saying hello!

Days 298 and 299

I was delighted that for my Diane Clancy challenge we had to find a tangle with the letter U ( and also N and D).  When I was putting my tangles in my notebook this week one of the new ones was a tangle called ududu.  I fell in love with it!  It is by artist Ina Sonnenmoser.  I also used my favorite go-to, Nzeppel and another new one Dice 2.  Here is day 298.

Day 299 and lots of school work.  I worked for few minutes on my inchie.  The word was "texture".  I used my cuttle bug to add some texture and then played with a tiny bit of color.  Sort of simple, but I like it.

Thanks for visiting.  I hope you are having a great day!

Day 300!!

Really?  I have been at this daily challenge for 300 days!  I have not missed one.  Now my posts aren't daily, but the creativity is.  I am not sure I will do this again.  I might.  After all I plan on continuing all the challenges so why not?
Just sat down to post days 298 and 299.  I had them written and the art work done.  I will have to rescan the two pics - they are not scanned in the right format - arghh!  So 300 is coming before 298 and 299.  I am counting like some of my kiddos!  I will rescan them tonight.  Blame it on my new scanner program.
For the That's New to Me #43 we had to use a tangle (or two) by artist Elena Hadzijaneva.  Lots to chose from there because she does some really neat ones.  We also had to chose a new tangle that begins with U.  That gave me a problem.  I had a hard time finding a new one.  Most of the ones in my note book I have used.  I settled on up point down, piza and hypnotic.

Thanks for coming by and saying hello!  Have a great day!

Days 295 -297, A trio of challenges

Diva's challenge for my day 295 was to make a piece autumn inspired with leaves.  I love fall and this time of year - crisp cool mornings and beautiful colors!  I decided I would go outside and find some really pretty leaves and trace them onto my paper.  Then I would either tangle on the leaf space or around the leaf space.  Once I had gathered the leaves, I went to tracing.  I just could not get satisfied with them - they wouldn't lay flat.  then I decided to paint one side and press them onto the paper.  That sort of worked.  The images weren't super so I just tangled over them.

Thursday was day 296 and fall festival.  I love fall festival at our school - I really do.  The kids have such a great time (and so do the teachers).  There is a dunk tank and inflatables.  Lots of games and booths to visit.  We also had perfect weather for those things operating outside.  The only down-side is that I get to school at 6:30 am.  I left fall festival at 7:00 pm.  So while I had a great time, my feet and legs were "crying".  I am clearly too old for nearly 13 hour days on my feet.  I did think I would be able to get out of bed on Friday morning.  I worked on Adele Bruno's string challenge Thursday evening while Ray fixed supper.  It uses fandance, swarm, and cruffle.

Okay.  I don't like this next tile.  At all.  But I am so worn out, it is going to have to do for today, 297.  I struggle with "over under" type tangles for some strange reason.  So when I saw that Square One's challenge was to use W2, I was less than thrilled.  I may try to do another more inspired one at some point.

Thank you for dropping by and leaving me some sunshine.  I hope you are having a wonderful day!

Day 294 - Ta-Da!

Here is my tile for Made by Joey and the Ta-Da challenge.  I had lots of fun with this tangle.
I guess I better go and straighten up my work space.  I hate to have to do that but I need more room.  One day, I am going to have a studio.  It may be no bigger than a closet, but I want a designated art space.  Another one of my dreams.  Take care and thanks for dropping by.

Day 293 - Suzy Mosh Challenges!

I love the challenges that Suzy Mosh runs  They both are a lot of fun.  I worked on both of them this afternoon.  The first one is the "That's New To Me" challenge #42.   We had to use new tangles starting with the letter P and a tangle or two by artist Sayantika Ray.  I chose to use phen, panthe, pand and snails.  I also used some gray marker and a tiny bit of red gel pen.

The second challenge was Tangle Me 3 #18.  The tangle to vary was dex.  I like this tangle. It is simple and looks so interesting.  My tile is fairly average, but I had fun playing with it.  I did the normal looking dex, then did one with tipple as a filler and one with an emingle type filler.  Lots of ways to play with this one.  I thought about color to vary it but changed my mind.

Earlier this afternoon, art club met.  I have such a great group of boys and girls this time.  They are very hard working and loads of fun!
Thank you for dropping by and I hope you have a blessed day!

Day 292 - Every Inchie Monday

Challenges that make you crave certain foods should be illegal.  I mean, Adele Bruno's "pasta" challenge last week?  Ban it!  Ben Kwok's ice cream template?  Toss it!  Every Inchie Monday's challenge this week?  Yogurt?  Arrest them!  (The challenge they did a while back for chocolate was pure criminal).
Nevertheless, I braved the cravings and did my inchie.  But look at that strawberry and that creamy bowl . . . I will be right back in a few.  I need to . . . stretch my legs, which of course will take me right by the refrigerator.  I should probably take a second to see if the light comes on when I open the door. . .

Back.  Yep it came on just fine.  Will wonders never cease?  Now I managed to survive this challenge but I am warning Every Inchie Monday if they ever do a "birthday cake" challenge, I am pressing charges!  Be warned!
Have a wonderful day!  Thank you for dropping by and saying hello!

Days 290 and 291

I had the best day yesterday.  It was my parent conference day.  We are provided with a substitute teacher so that we can conference all day.  My conferences started at 7:15 and went until 4.  Long day - but there were several large gaps.  During which I got to work on plans so I have less to do this weekend.  Yeah!  I love meeting and talking with my parents.  So yesterday was a lot of fun.  Then my very last conference of the day came in.  She is a very sweet and young mom.  She brought her boyfriend with her - a handsome young man.  He sat down and she said this is J's best friend, Skylar.  I immediately turned to him and said his last name!  He was one of my kids.  I so remember that kiddo.  He was a beautiful child, long white blonde hair and huge blue eyes.  He was also quite a "critter", but I loved him.  Anyway, it was so much fun to see him and get to visit.  He has become such a nice person, even wanting to know what he could do to help J with her homework and such.  It always makes me feel so good to see my kids.
I worked on day 290 while supper cooked.  It is for Diane Clancy's challenge.  I used the tangles lap, puf, and zanella.  I like how they all seem to share commonalities and work together well.  Fun!
Square One challenge (Facebook) wanted us to use the tangle nymph.  It seems - at least to me - to start and work from one of my favorites, nzeppel.  I am not sure this is exactly correct, but I like it.
I think if the challenge did not have to be in black and white, I might color it.  Lots of soft colored flowers and a early morning sunrise.  Oh well, if you would just please imagine those colors in your mind.   There!  See what I mean?  This was day 291.
I hope you are having a wonderfully blessed day!  I love hearing your comments and thank you for stopping by my corner of the world.

Days 288 and 289, String Challenge and Some Other Fun

Oh getting up today was sooooo hard.  It was a major challenge all by itself!  I am not and never will be a morning person.  Now, I can sit up til the wee hours of the morning, but not get up early, even after a complete night's sleep.
I absolutely loved Adele Bruno's string challenge this week.  The string was a bit challenging but the tangles - ahh, teenos, and ta-da - were so much fun.   I used teenos as a part of ta-da instead of the normal look.  Kind of like that.

For day 289, I finished up a piece I have been playing with on and off for several days.  I am surprised how tired I am this evening.  This is after all a short week.  But they seem so much longer.  I know it makes no sense.  Back to the piece.  I was inspired by a piece I saw somewhere on the internet and while I didn't copy any of the tangles, I used the string idea.

Thanks  for dropping by and saying hello!  I have my parent conference day tomorrow so that will be lots of fun.  I enjoy that.  Have a blessed day.

Day 287 - Last day of break, boo-hoo!

I have been so lazy this fall break.  I don't really feel very guilty though, because when I get back to school tomorrow it will be "hit the pavement running" as usual.  I will be going back to a three day week and that is nice.  It is sort of a two day week as I will be doing parent conferences all day Friday and not teaching.  I look forward to meeting and talking with each family.  You can learn so much.
Diva's challenge was to use the tangle "munchin".  I don't use this one very much.  But it was fun to play with.  I don't use a black tile very often either - I usually do as I did here and black out space with a marker.  I also decided to work right on a card I am using for a birthday card.

Thanks for dropping by and saying hello!  Have a great day!

Day 286

Ah, the best kind of Monday - a no school Monday.  I am so enjoying the leisurely pace of today.   One day, I would love to retire and have days like this always . . .  I sometimes think that will never happen.
Moving on, I worked on another Made for Joey challenge - this time with striping.  I love the swirly colors.

I also did the Every Inchie Monday challenge - key.  I was so hoping I could find a little tiny key in my stash and I did!  The card in the back ground helps it to mean the "key to my heart".  At least I hope so.

A few more pieces of shrink plastic.  I need some practice with this stuff but I am really enjoying it either way.

Hope you are having a great day!  Thanks for coming by and hopefully sharing some sunshine.  Lots of blessings to you!

Days 283 - 285

Day 283 and I am shouting it is Friday all over the place!!  Not only just any Friday, but the start of my fall break and 4 days off school!!  Yahoo!!  I took a few minutes and worked on the challenge for Made for Joey - using rosewood.  It is sort of a bland tile, but I am so tired I can hardly hold my head up.  Maybe tomorrow I will get a burst of energy.

Considering it is still rainy and dreary, my burst of energy never came.  But it is a good day for pajamas and art work.  Today, 284, I did two tiles for Diane Clancy's challenge.  One was in my journal and the other was on my shrink plastic.  I used kollide, indyrella, and rain or shine.  The shrunk one turned out pretty good but I still can't get it to shrink with straight sides.

I celebrated day 285 by doing two challenges and NO school work.  Probably tomorrow.  For That's New to Me, I used zroz, zoose, reticulated and sooflowers.  I also did the Tangle Me 3 challenge with printemps.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you are having a wonderful weekend.  Take care!!

Day 282 - Bowls of Spaghetti

Adele Bruno's challenge has made me hungry for pasta.  Of course, it doesn't take much to interest me in pasta.  Love the stuff!  Any kind, doesn't matter.  For string challenge #113 I used hollibaugh for the pasta and pots and pans to put it in.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a great day!

Day 281 - Diva challenge #238

This Diva challenge was to use the tangle "tri-bee".  I turned mine into a monotangle trying to play around and get one cluster I really liked.  After adding the color, I guess they all three will do.  So here is a TRI tri-bee.

Thanks for dropping by and I hope you are having a blessed day!

Day 280 - That's New to Me

Over at Suzy Mosh's this week we had to find some tangles that begin with the letter K and were new.  Guess that leaves out me using "keeko", since I try  to use it every chance I get.  So for something new I chose kollide and knobeez.  Then just a hint of color  . . . because of no real reason.

I have posted each day this week so far.  I almost didn't make it this evening because I am sooooo tired.  We had our first field trip today.  It was exhausting.  A lot of fun, but definitely exhausting.  The day was hot and we did a lot of walking.  So yep, I am tired.
Thank you for dropping by and hopefully leaving me a comment - now, pardon me while I go snore.

Day 279 - Organza

I had a pink piano recital dress ages upon ages ago.  It was layers of pink organza, little roses, and taffeta (I think that is what it is called).  Either way, it was gorgeous and I felt like a princess.  I think I was 10.  I played "Somewhere Over the Rainbow".  Awesome memory.  Okay, on to tangling.  All this playing with organza made me think of my pink dress.

Hope your day is going well.  Thanks for dropping by!

Day 278 - Lumberjack

Every Inchie Monday's work of the week is lumberjack.  I cannot even think about the word without humming the song  by Monty Python.  Such a silly song!  Check out the link if you want to hear it.

I hope you are having a great day.  I actually had very little school work, unbelievable.  Thanks for dropping by.

Days 271 -277 A Week's Worth of Art

Did I mention last time I purchased some shrink plastic?  Yes, I guess I did.  I have been waiting for some more days to have time to play with it, so for day 271 I did a little playing.  I cut a tile size piece of plastic and tangled it.  Then of course the fun began when I shrink it.  There is always that moment when you wonder if it will ever uncurl - but of course it does.
before shrinking

I decided this week I would have to pick and choose my challenges.  I just didn't have enough time for them all.  That bugs the obsessive part of me, but with school screaming for more time, that is just going to have to happen.  I combined two challenges for day 272 - That's New to Me focusing on the letter I and Diane Clancey's challenge #26 with the letters FIN.  My tangles are illawarrior, facets, and nvelope.

Many years ago there was a program on night TV called "Hot L Baltimore".  Actually I never saw the program, but the name always fascinated me.  So for day 273 and Every Inchie Monday, I used that for inspiration.  The word was "hotel" and the "e" on my sign is supposed to be burned out.

I had to quickly make two cards for birthdays this evening, day 274.  So I decided to put some of my tiles to work.  They seem to stack up so I thought this might be a nice way to share some of them.  These two cards are for two people at school.

Did you see the lunar eclipse last weekend?  I was so ready to watch it and take pictures.  Our sky was so cloudy nothing could be seen.  I had been working on this piece of art in journal for awhile and could not decide what to put in that big circle I had put in the middle.  I decided on a tribute to the red moon (that I never saw). The coloring is not so great, but overall I like day 275's piece.  Wonder if I will be here to see it the next time?  I certainly hope so.

Day 276 and I worked on Adele Bruno's challenge #112.  We had to use the tangles minline, puffle and kisses.   I didn't have a lot of time this evening, but I did get it done.

Day 277 and back to the plastic.  I cut out two more pieces and tangled them.  Then I used my new pack of sharpies to color.  They are a bit dark, don't you think?  If any one out there has any experience with this stuff - share some tips.  I want to try making Christmas ornaments and necklace charms for gifts.  So I have to conquer the mechanics of this craft!

It has been a wonderful week for me.  I have felt so blessed this week I can hardly stop smiling.  I have had some financial concerns for a bit over a year - rather massive burdens.  God took care of a few of those this week.  I still have a long way to go, but this week for the first in a very long time, I felt like we were moving forward.  I hope you have had an equally blessed week!
