Dare #23

Oh, I loved this template!  When I have more time, I plan on doing some more of these.  The moment I saw those large ovals, I thought of my Nannie's jewelry box.  The one where I would pull out things to play dress up with.  I felt so glamorous in all her finery.  It provided such a pleasant memory as I tangled.  I tried to find tangles that looked "jewelry like".  Erin, this was a great one!

For the next try, I went in a totally different direction.  Not just from the first one, but for me altogether.  I have never tried steampunk styles.  But thought I would give it a go.  Actually I sort of like this one.

The Bright Owl challenge is being moved to Saturdays.  That is perfect for me.  I am usually so tired by Fridays, I don't have my best focus.
Hope you had a great week-end and thanks for stopping by and leaving comments!

  1. So glad to be seeing what others are doing with this. LOVE the jewelry theme. And I am understanding that not every space has to be filled. Not sure what steampunk is but that one is fascinating too!

  2. Both great. I'm going to find out what 'steampunk' means. Seen it several times before, but I don't (yet) know what it is.

  3. both very different and both very beautiful. Your steampunk is grand yet the softness of your bejewelled Zendala is quite peaceful to look at :)

  4. I especially like the first. The relief on the ovals is perfect.

  5. Great designs. I love the shading you used in the ovals in the first one. And the second remembers me of a caleidoscoop. A toy I had as a child. You look through it, and you see beautiful patterns, who change as you turn the tube. When I look at your second tile, I have the feeling that if I turn it, the pieces fall into another place to make another beautiful pattern. Great :)

  10. Again someone doing two very different feels for the same zendala - and I love both of them! Your jewelry box is lovely - beautifully drawn and shaded. I'm not a fan of steampunk, personally, but I do like that yours seems "lighter". Again, beautifully drawn and shaded.
