Journal pages

Slowly but surely I am working my way through each journal prompt for Journal 52.  I took some time yesterday and finished two more of the prompts.
Week 34 was "Alphabetical".  The hardest part about this prompt was deciding what to do.  I love alphabetical things - okay, I know that's weird.  I collect children's ABC books.  I organize things by letter.  You get the picture.  Since I am behind on these prompts, I chose something fairly easy and did an ABC zentangle page.  Then after all my careful planning, I realized it wasn't the right size (or at least what I had planned) so I cut it out and mounted it on cardstock.   Next I just added some letters from my scrapbooking things.
week 34
Then I decided to work on the prompt - "friendship".  I went to pinterest to find a quote and saw a poster that looked like this.  I fell in love with it since I love Winnie the Pooh.  So I decided to just recreate the poster.  I drew the background with a sepia pen.  Then I added some stickers I had on hand.  (What would I do without my scrapbooking stash?)
week 31
I only have three more prompts to get caught up.  But of course, I realize once I catch up I will just get behind again.  Ah well,  it is the journey not the destination, right?
Thanks for dropping by and leaving me some sunshine.  Have a blessed day!

Stripes

Sorry you won't find any old movie clips from "Stripes" with Bill Murray here.  Just a tile with some stripes on it for Diva's challenge this past week.  Since I love border tangles, I had a lot of fun playing around with this one.
Also here is another one I did for a new facebook group I found.  We had to use the tangle "auraknot".  I like that one.  It has a fun and calming effect.
Thanks for dropping by and have a blessed week!  I am going to enjoy a wonderful three day week-end.  Yahoo!

Taking the Plunge

Diva wanted us to think water this week for our challenge.  I completed my tile the first day - well, that night.  But I just haven't had time to get it posted.  I had several ideas for doing a water tile.  But finally settled on some water pipes.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a blessed day.

Quick

I have a cold.  Now I know that is not earth shattering news, but I never have one this early in the school year - this is the second week.  Good grief!  I honestly would have stayed at home yesterday, but these kids need me to establish all those really important ground rules.  This has got to go away!
Every Inchie Monday's word was "quick".  I decided on the saying "quick as a wink".  Not fabulous, but hey, as I said this is the second week of school.  I am behind already or so it seems.
Next I decided to just play around with some new tangles that have been posted recently and what better color to play with than purple?  None.
Lastly, I finally finished the  Journal 52 prompt for the word "passion".  I just couldn't decide what to do - I have several things I feel passionate about.  But I chose art.  Art is definitely something I live and breathe.
I had seen a hand done this way on something so I had to try it.  I don't think I will do that again anytime soon.  Those lines got a bit . . . well, I started going a bit nutty!  I do however like the way it looks and I concede it might be better on plain paper so I could see the pencil lines.
Thanks for dropping by and I hope you have a blessed evening!

Challenge #180

Diva's challenge this week was to use the tangle "mac-dee" by Anneke van Dam.  What a lovely versatile tangle this is!  Especially if you want to add some color.  I love plaids, anyway.
Challenge #180
For my string challenge at Adele Bruno's site, Tickled to Tangle, I decided to keep it simple and only use two of the four tangles we could choose from - onamato and pokeleaf.  The pokeleaf in this one reminds me of the kudzu vine that has taken over a lot of Georgia and Tennessee.  They even have kudzu festivals and balls!  Oh my.
Kudzu (string challenge #53)

I have a few other things I want to play with so I will head off and get busy!  Have a blessed day!

Every Inchie Monday - Plum

My first thought when I saw this word for this week was the fruit.  In the back of my grandparent's house there were four of the best plum trees ever.  The moment  they ripened I would hang out beneath them eating until I was about to pop!  It seemed like there was always something ready to pick around Papa's place - watermelons, cherries, pears, apples, peaches, and a variety of nuts (that were harder to eat on the spot).  What a fun place it was to grow up!
Have a blessed day and thanks for dropping by!

Weekend!!

I have had these pieces done all week, but no time (or energy) to post them.  This was the week at school where I had to move furniture - lots of it - and clean.  And then clean and move some more.  The room is finally beginning to take some sort of shape.  It better - only two more teacher in-service days to go!  I am getting excited about this year.
Every Inchie Monday's word was "privacy".  So here you go, a little door that clearly says Do Not Disturb.  I will take that sign for my door!
Diva's challenge was to do some tiny - 2 inch tiles - in honor of the newest Zentangle tiles, Bijou.  I drew some 2" tiles on to my page and did them.  The only reason I didn't do the actual size is that I have made an accordian fold booklet to put some of the challenges I do in and they wouldn't work if I made them only 2 inches.
Journal 52 had a prompt for week 29 - "Fashion".  I am still behind on the weeks.  I love comfortable clothes and sneakers.  I enjoy looking at pretty fashions, but they are really not my style.  However one thing I love is boots.  Now I have never owned a pair of boots.  Well, I have.  But I couldn't wear them.  As a teen we tried to find boots to fit me.  No luck.  I wanted boots so bad I could cry, but never had the chance to get some.  You see, I have very large calves.  Always have.  I also have very small feet - size 4 1/2.  Yep.  Small.  I can wear a child's shoe with no problems.  My graduation shoes from high school had to be white.  Mom and I searched all over town and finally ended up going to Sears and purchasing me a pair of white shoes - from the children's section, with a picture of Winnie the Pooh on the inside.  I made my parents promise that no matter what happened to me on graduation night that under no circumstances would they let my shoes come off in public!
Week 29
Better go now.   Have a great weekend and thanks for dropping by.
